Seminar Objectives

Through science-based lectures and hands-on demonstrations given by experts and practitioners in the field, participants will:

• Learn basic concepts of laser physics including: wavelength, dose, bandwidth, coherence, power density, frequency, and polarization
• Gain overview of primary and secondary mechanisms as a theoretical background for laser therapy and how that translates to treatment parameters and clinical application
• Enhance clinical practice of laser therapy through discussions and demonstrations relating to optimal dosage, choice of laser type, wavelength, treatment time, etc.
• Become aware of false claims made in laser therapy marketing and understand how to differentiate them from quality laser therapy instruments.
